Sensory Room

We have a well resourced sensory room thanks to a grant from the City Council's Curriculum and Childcare (0-7) which has increased the opportunities and experiences we can offer all our children but especially those with additional needs.

The sensory room has been recently decorated in white to reflect the range of light sources and projectors we have. We have fibre optic strands, bubble tubes, Light projectors, ultra violet lights and glow in the dark resources, calming music, tactile materials, torches, aromatherapy oils and an inflatable mattress and fabric for the children to lie on and use.

The room always has two adults supervising and working with the children and has been a fantastic asset to the group. The children love watching the lights, relaxing and enjoying all the different experiences.

We have a thorough policy relating to special needs and have worked with a range of children who have had additional needs. We have had training as a staff on autism, speech and language and behaviour management and work closely with Nottingham City Council.

If a child has special needs or we feel that a child needs extra support we will apply to the council for The Inclusive Service Grant to support a child's individual needs if necessary.
